Meaning & usage
The suffix させる means to make someone do something or to let someone do something, with context showing whether it is coercion or permission. It attaches to the nai stem of a verb, giving forms like 行かせる, 食べさせる, and 来させる, while する becomes させる. The whole causative form inflects as a Group 2 verb, and させてください is a polite way to ask to be allowed to do something yourself.
