させる (saseru)

Meaning & usage

させる is the causative form, meaning to make or let someone do something. It attaches to the negative stem of verbs: ichidan verbs drop る and add させる, while godan verbs change the final -u sound to the a-row and add せる, as in させる/〜せる.
