か(どうか) (ka douka)

Meaning & usage

か(どうか) turns a question into an embedded one, meaning whether or not something is the case. It follows plain-form clauses; after nouns and na-adjectives, だ is usually dropped before か. It appears in sentences expressing wondering, asking, or reporting a yes/no question.
