堪らない・たまらない (ranai tamaranai)

Meaning & usage

たまらない expresses that a feeling or desire is so strong it is unbearable. It attaches to the te-form of a verb or adjective, typically with て before it, as in たくてたまらない. The examples all show it following the て-form of a wanting expression, and it is used in everyday spoken Japanese.
