行く・いく (ku iku)

Meaning & usage

行く means to go, describing movement away from where the speaker is now toward another place. The destination is marked with に or へ, as in 学校に行く or 東京へ行く. It is a u-verb that conjugates as 行かない, 行きます, 行った, and 行きたい, with an irregular past form 行った. It is neutral in politeness and fits both casual and formal speech.
