行く・いく (ku iku)

Meaning & usage

行く is the basic verb meaning to go or to move away from where the speaker is. It follows a destination marked with the particle に or へ, as in ニューヨークに行く, and can also attach to a masu-stem with に行く to express going somewhere in order to do something, as in 飲みに行く.
