Meaning & usage
ね at the end of a sentence asks the listener to confirm what the speaker believes or to agree with an opinion, like adding right? or isn't it? in English. It attaches to a complete plain form such as だよね or するよね or a complete polite form such as ですよね or ますよね, including past and negative forms. It is common in everyday conversation and sounds friendly, with rising intonation making the confirmation request clearer.
