Meaning & usage
多い is an i-adjective meaning numerous or plentiful, used when the amount, number, or frequency of something is large. Use Nが or Nは多い to say there is a lot of N, Nの多いN to modify a noun as in 雨の多い月, comparisons with Nより多い, and Vることが多い to say an action often happens. Keep 多い as a predicate or noun modifier and do not use 多く directly with a verb for quantity; for past or polite forms conjugate like other i-adjectives, as in 多かったです or 多すぎます.
