kyou wa desu ne, hatsu korabo!
It’s been a while since my last video podcast.
「Japanese with Shun」
" Japanese with Shun " to iu poddo kyasuto to,
Yeah, I’m a little nervous.
YouTube no channeru, ato Instagram o motte irassharu
Showing my face. You might be thinking, “Now, really?”
Shun
Shun san ni okoshi itadakimashita.
Even now, it still makes me nervous.
yoroshiku onegai shimasu ー!
Nice to meet you!
hai, minasan konnichiwa! nihon go kyoushi no Shun desu!
So, what am I going to talk about today?
yoroshiku onegai shimasu ー!
Recently I came across a kind of interesting news story.
hatsu korabo de. arigatou gozaimasu!
It’s too interesting way too unique—a game… no, not a game.
kochira koso arigatou gozaimasu.
No, thank you for having me.
I’ve been gaming too much, so I said “game” by accident. News! It's not a game. I found some news in Japan
So, I would like to introduce this news a little What kind of news is it?
hontou desu ka? arigatou gozaimasu.
Really? Thank you so much.
koe kakete kudasai yo.
You should have just asked me.
desu yo ne.
it’s about a person with amnesia.
hontou ni kou iu tokoro.... ( sumimasen...)
I'm really like this... (sorry...)
arigatou gozaimasu.
Thank you.
zutto moyamoya shite iru tokoro ni,
Amnesia means someone who’s lost their memory.
sasuga no Shun san ga patto watashi ni renraku o kurete,
And this one is like a mystery wrapped in a mystery.
tsunagaru koto ga dekimashita.
It’s mystery after mystery after mystery.
sou omotte itadaiteta nante ureshii desu.
So, what kind of news is it?
watashi mo shiriai ga kiite iru n desu yo.
Let me check the headline.
nihonnin desu ka?
iya, anoo, furansunin no shiriai de
“Who am I? A man with amnesia searching for his identity with ¥600,000 left in his bag.”
" dou yatte benkyou shiteru no? " tte itte,
That’s the story.
Shun
Shun san no poddo kyasuto o shoukai sarete.
Over the past few days, it’s been causing a stir in Japan.
hee ureshii! reberu kan ga chotto chigau no de, watashi no channeru to
It’s a strange story. I wanted to share it with you all.
Shun
Shun san no channeru wa chotto chigau bubun ga aru no de,
I’ll roughly explain what happened.
chotto ( korabo wa) dou ka naa tte omottari shitete.
I was kind of wondering if a collab would work.
sokka sokka, harukasan no channeru wa motto reberu ga takai.
In the mountains of a place called Okuizumo in Shimane Prefecture,
a man was found.
de mo nachuraru na nihon go benkyou dekiru kara,
And he apparently has amnesia.
metcha ii to omoimasu ne.
I think that's really great.
kikinagashi mo dekiru shi.
I mean, in this day and age—amnesia? It’s like a movie world, right?
sore wa ureshii desu ne.
That's so nice to hear.
Shun
Shun san de benkyou shite itadaite,
If you study with Shun,
chotto watashi ga chotto muzukashii nihon go o kiku gurai,
Anyway, the person is a man, and he has no memory at all.
daburu de kiite itadaku to. sou desu ne.
boku no channeru de, chotto nihon go o benkyou shite,
There’s almost nothing he remembers,
chotto jishin ga tsuitara, chotto harukasan no channeru ni charenji shite mite.
though he seems to remember general things. But he doesn’t remember his own name,
or where he used to live.
sono, nihon go ga amari jouzu ja nai hito de mo,
He has absolutely no idea why he’s in the mountains of Shimane Prefecture,
nan ka sono nihon go no shawaa zutto abiru no tte taisetsu da kara,
and he says one day he suddenly woke up there.
wakaranakute mo, nan ka ryouri shi nagara kiiteru,
He was like, “Ow, my head hurts!” and when he opened his eyes, he was in the mountains.
bakkuguraundo de kiite tari to ka mo... kii tari mo dekimasu yo ne.
A movie? Seriously?
yaku ni tatsu to omoimasu ne. sore mo ne. yaku ni tatsu to omoimasu yo.
He’d think, “Was I attacked by aliens or something?”
sugoi.
Wow.
te na kanji de,
So like,
kyou wa ne, mazu chotto Shun san ni tsuite chotto nehori hahori kiki tsutsu....
So he has no memory—who he is, what his name is, why he’s there. As for food names and such,
kowai!
Scary!
maa ima ne, chotto oosaka ni sunde irassharu to iu koto de,
he knows words like “bread” and “rice.” He recognizes things, but for dish names like “What’s karaage?” “What’s shogayaki?”
I'm curious about life in Osaka, so
sore ni tsuite kikitai na to omou n desu kedo.
once it gets to specific dishes, he doesn’t know them at all—that’s how bad the amnesia is, apparently.
hai, mochiron desu.
Yes, of course.
A Japanese person who doesn’t know karaage—existing in this world?
shusshin wa nihon no aichi ken to iu tokoro na n desu kedo.
Right? You all know karaage—yeah, it’s delicious.
But apparently he knows “bread” and “rice.” It’s strange, really.
sou ne, nagoya wa wakaru ka na.
Yeah, people probably know Nagoya.
So, this “Mr. Tanaka”… how should I put it— since he doesn’t know his own name,
hai, aichi ken no naka ni nagoya ga atte,
he decided to call himself “Tanaka Hajime” for now.
nagoya wa aichi ken no naka de ichiban ookii machi de,
Nagoya is the biggest city in Aichi,
maa toukyou to oosaka no aida ni aru ka na.
“Tanaka” is a common surname, and “Hajime” uses the kanji for the number 1.
choudo aida gurai.
It’s kind of like “Smith” in Japan.
desu ne.
Right.
bashoteki ni wa.
Location-wise.
umaresodatte, sono aichi ken no basho. dou iu kankyou desu ka?
Names like “Yamada Taro” or “Tanaka Hajime” are the sort you often see as examples on forms— really common names.
nan ka, metcha inaka na no ka,
Like, is it really rural,
sore to mo chotto tokai na no ka,
or is it a bit urban,
nan ka kougai na no ka, nan ka dou iu kanji desu ka ne?
So he started introducing himself as “Tanaka Hajime,”
aichi ken no kekkou metcha inaka deshita ne.
since he doesn’t know his real name.
mawari ni tanbo ga atte,
He woke up in early July, and he has no idea.
why he’s here. But his head hurts. And he had a bag.
When he looked inside, there were glasses, a folding umbrella—all sorts of things.
oo ii naa.
Oh, nice.
mou THE nihon no inaka mitai na.
Also cigarettes and a lighter, you know.
tanbo ga atte yama ga atte mitai na.
And a wallet—those kinds of things were in there,
de mo nan ka nihon no inaka tte kekkou benri desu yo ne.
but the wallet was empty, and there was no ID. No identification at all.
furansu no, sore koso harukasan ga iru furansu no inaka tte
No ID, and no phone either.
maji de nan mo nai ja nai desu ka.
There's seriously nothing there, right?
But for some reason, there was ¥600,000 and a knife in the bag.
ie ga 1 ken 2 ken aru to ka.
Like, just one or two houses out there.
kekkou yappari nihon da to suupaa, konbini tte igai ni...
That totally reeks of foul play, right?
If the wallet’s empty, someone must have taken the money, right?
inaka tte yobareteru tokoro de mo,
They must have taken the ID too, probably.
depaato ga attari to ka,
And the phone as well.
ion mitai na.
Like Aeon.
ion tsuyoi kara ironna tokoro ni arimasu mon ne.
Yet there’s ¥600,000 in there, and a knife. Whether someone put in the ¥600,000 or not…
I thought even the countryside was surprisingly convenient.
de, inaka de umarete, chiisai toki wa yoku soto de sakkaa shi tari,
since he’s self-proclaimed—this self-proclaimed Mr. Tanaka, maybe he himself had it; we don’t know. And waking up with a headache. that’s straight out of a movie. Like someone whacked him—bam—
nan ka, wanpaku shounen deshita ne.
ugh, collapse…
himitsu kichi tsukuttari, dorodarake ni natte kaette kiteta mainichi desu ne.
then he comes to, and his head hurts. “But where am I? Who am I?” You know? It ended up feeling like a movie scenario.
totoro no satsuki to mei mitai na kanji de,
So he’s like, what should I do?
mou dorodoro ni natte. hashirimawatteru kanji desu ne.
For the time being, with the ¥600,000 he bought a tent, a camping tent and some food,
hashirimawatteta kanji. hontou ni.
Just running around, really.
sou na n da.
Oh, really.
de mo zutto... aichi o deta no wa,
and for about 2 months he apparently lived this sort of journey to find his memories, as his way of living.
nansai gurai datta n desu ka?
In the tent. But his memories still didn’t come back,
shougakkou, chuugakkou, koukou wa zutto aichi ken de,
and after about 3 weeks, the memories that did return were:
daigaku ga nagoya no daigaku ni itta n desu ne.
the Glico sign in Osaka.
You know that famous billboard in Dotonbori where the runner does the “I did it!” finish-line pose.
Nagoya really felt like the big city back then.
yappa nagoya, nagoya ookii desu kara ne. hontou ni.
That and Mount Fuji, pretty much.
nagoya ookii to omoimasu yo.
It’s like he only remembered big tourist spots.
chanto Skyscraper tte iu ka, kousou biru ga takusan atte,
Seems he remembered just Fuji and Glico. But he still didn’t know his own name,
yappari iku, nagoya eki to ka iku to,
so he kind of gave up,
miagemasu mon ne. biru o.
You look up at the buildings.
toukyou ni iku to, motto sugoi kedo.
and consulted the Shimane Prefectural Police.
But even though the police did everything they should, they couldn’t identify him at all.
dou desu ka ne. 3 banme, 4 banme?
They didn’t know who he was.
5 daitoshi to ka iimasu mon ne.
They talk about the five major cities and stuff.
sapporo to ka nagoya, oosaka to ka kyouto, fukuoka to ka ka na.
So, since he remembered the Glico sign in Osaka, it seems he went to Osaka. He went and stood in front of that Glico sign.
He stood there for about 20 minutes, but apparently nothing came back to him.
hajimete hitori de aichi ken o deta no wa,
And, really unfortunately, in Osaka,
bakkupakkaa o hajimeta toki desu ne.
someone was like, “You seem a bit suspicious.”
18 sai no koro.
When I was 18.
daigaku? sokka daigakuchuu na n da.
So, a stop-and-question.
daigakuchuu.
While I was in university.
daigaku no... kore ga ne,
In Japan, if someone seems a bit suspicious, the police do a stop-and-question like, “Could we see your ID?” or
daigaku no, ano nanka... daigaku no kougi ga atte.
“What are you doing right now?” they ask things like that. Sometimes they find drugs on someone or discover the person’s up to no good.
kurasu, nan ka tokubetsu kougi mitai na no ga atte.
There was, like, this special lecture kind of class.
sono sensei ga nan ka iroiro bakkupakkaa de tabi o sareta hou datta n desu yo.
Anyway, he got stopped like that, but he didn’t have ID, didn’t have a phone, and on top of that, he had a knife. In his bag.
kekkou shigeki o ukemasu ne, sou iu no.
That kind of stuff really inspires you.
So he was arrested on the spot, arrested for violating the Firearms and Swords Control Law. but it turned out he had no memory Violating that law means possessing weapons is illegal.
sokka, konna omoshiroi sekai ga aru n da tte omotte.
It’s illegal to walk around with a weapon. Everyone, be careful, okay?
sono hi ni sugu chiketto o kai ni ikimashita.
Don’t go walking around carrying a knife. So, he got arrested,
koudouryokuyaba!!
and was held by the police for 10 days,
sou sou sou. sono toki ni.
but apparently he truly has no memories.
sono toki wa mada de mo, on rain de chiketto o kau uri tte iu gainen ga nakatta kara
He doesn’t even know why he had the knife. And since they still couldn’t tell who he was, the police released him
hontou ni ryokou kaisha ni itte,
I actually went to a travel agency, and
tounan ajia ikitai n desu kedo. okane nai n desu kedo.
and referred him to a welfare organization.
ichiban okane nakatta kara ne.
Because I had basically no money.
da kara kurasu ga owatte,
So after class ended,
sono sensei ni "kondaigaku 1 nensei. baito shiteru n desu kedo,
People at that organization helped the self-proclaimed Mr. Tanaka,
okane zenzen nakute. doko ga ichiban yasuku ikemasu ka?
and now he’s apparently living in Osaka, working part-time at a restaurant.
doko ga ii desu ka? "tte kiitara,
When I asked him, where would be good?
" tounan ajia. "
He said, Southeast Asia.
"tounan ajia dattara, tabun hoka no bakkupakkaa to ka mo iru shi,
He said, in Southeast Asia there are probably other backpackers too, and
tabun tabi wa shiyasui to omou yo "tte iwarete.
I think traveling would probably be easy.
sore de tounan ajia de ichiban yasuku ikeru tokoro doko desu ka? tte
But since he has no personal information at all, they went on the news saying, “We’re seeking information.”
sono ryokou kaisha no hito ni itte,
I asked the person at the travel agency, and
1 kagetsu no chiketto o kaimashita ne.
That brought the case to light.
sugoi. sore, de mo 1 kagetsu?
Apparently they’ve now received over 300 tips,
1 kagetsu.
One month.
hatsu kaigai desu ka, sore?
Was that your first time overseas?
hitori de hatsu kaigai desu.
but they can’t tell which ones are real,
uwaa sugoi.
and there are people saying, “I’m his parent,” “I’m his relative.”
de mo mou yappa adobenchaa shitakatta kara,
But even if Mr. Tanaka meets them, he can’t tell whether they’re really his relatives.
So they’ll probably need to bring photos and prove it.
hoteru to ka wa nan mo kawanakatta n desu yo.
I didn't book a hotel or anything.
mou chiketto dake.
Like, “He’s my son—I have photos.”
Wow, amazing, I would get so anxious though.
sugoi na.
That's amazing.
wakuwaku deshita ne.
I was so excited.
adobenchaa ga hajimaru mitai na.
Like an adventure was starting.
They’re working on that now, but apparently they still don’t know who he is. It’s way too suspicious, right?
de mo zutto inaka seikatsu o shite ite,
Feels totally like yakuza or something.
nagoya ni deta toki,
When I went out to Nagoya,
tokai ni saisho deta toki tte komatta koto to ka arimashita?
I get that kind of criminal vibe from it.
gyappu.
Don’t you think so? It doesn’t feel like a normal case.
sou desu ne. gyappu. gyappu ka.
And the fact that he says “my head hurts” suggests he suffered some impact, like he was hit, or something like that.
gyappu wa amari nakatta ka na.
If it were just a mugging where he got hit and lost his memory, I could understand that.
yappa nihon da shi.
Well, it was still Japan, after all.
It was just like, oh, the buildings are big.
His wallet emptied, phone taken—sure. But the scary part is that the ¥600,000 cash was left.
ookii gyappu wa nakatta kedo,
There wasn't a huge gap, but
de mo hitorigurashi.
living alone, though.
hajimete no hitorigurashi datta kara,
If it were a robbery, they’d definitely take that.
sono hitorigurashi no taihensa to ka ni wa kizukimashita yo ne.
¥600,000. And there's a knife in there Who even walks around carrying a knife in this world…?
jibun de zenbu yaranakya ikenai shi.
I had to do everything myself.
ohahasan, itsu mo arigatou tte, hontou ni omoimashita ne.
In Japan, that’s already a violation of the Firearms and Swords Control Law. Right.
yachin takai to ka, yabai, kongetsu nan tabeyou, okane nai to ka.
And since Mr. Tanaka wants to meet someone who knows who he is,
baito shinakya ikenai to ka.
he hasn’t changed his hairstyle.
But actually, Mr. Tanaka has an extremely distinctive hairstyle—
taihen desu yo ne. daigaku seikatsu, tashika ni.
It's tough, isn't it. College life, for sure.
isogashii to omoimasu yo.
it’s a mohawk.
hontou ni, benkyou shite.
His hair.
asobitakattari, hoshii mono ga attara baito shinakya ikenai kara
A mohawk is, um, how should I put it, both the right and left sides are completely shaved,
daigaku ikanakya ikenai no ni.
Even though I had to go to classes.
hontou ni taihen da to omoimasu.
I really think it's tough.
shikamo sore de tounan ajia ni 1 kagetsu.
And on top of that, a month in Southeast Asia.
sou. sono toki wa ne.
and there’s just a single strip of hair running straight along the top, like someone from a punk band.
yokatta desu, de mo.
A mohawk.
doko no kuni deshita? tounan ajia.
I mean, that’s way too distinctive, right?
chiketto wa, bankoku ― nihon ― bankoku.
You don’t really see many people living ordinary lives with mohawks,
nagoya ― bankoku no oufuku chiketto.
A round-trip ticket between Nagoya and Bangkok.
sono toki wa mada kakuyasu koukuu kaisha mo nakatta no ka na.
so I can’t help thinking Mr. Tanaka might’ve been a bit of an odd person. What do you all think?
nihon kara wa nakatta desu ne.
About this case.
sou, da kara chanto shita... mou oboetemasu.
Of course there are plenty of people saying, “He’s definitely lying,” or “No way he actually lost his memory,”
Thai Airwaysかな。
Thai Airways ka na.
I think it was Thai Airways.
chotto, chanto, tai no naka de ichiban chanto shita kaisha de.
or “He’s just acting.” But to me, what’s the benefit of faking amnesia?
chiketto wa sou na n desu kedo,
The ticket was sorted, but
tsuite kara ne, hoteru, nan mo kimetenai kara.
That’s what I wonder.
dou shita n desu ka. sono go, dou yatte seikatsu shita no.
My personal view is—
sono ato wa kuukou no kauntaa ni itte,
maybe he borrowed money from some pretty dangerous people,
eigo mo zenzen hanasenakute.
And I couldn't speak English at all.
kuukou no kauntaa ni itte,
couldn’t pay it back,
" hoteru ga yasukute takusan aru basho wa doko desu ka " tte kiite.
then got whacked on the head—bam—
hoteru, tomaru basho wakaranai kara.
Because I didn't know hotels, where to stay.
da kara, kaosan toori tte wakarimasu?
lost his memory and got dumped somewhere, you know? In the mountains. But even then, the ¥600,000 left behind is strange—like, “Here, live off this.”
ima wa yuumei ka na. chotto.
It's kind of famous now, I guess.
kaosan toori o susumerareta n de,
And all his other assets were taken.
jaa, kaosan toori made dou yatte ikeba ii desu ka mitai na.
So he only had ¥600,000 left, like the opposite way around.
shi basu o oshiete moratte.
Something like that, maybe.
shi basu no hito ni " kaosan ni tsuitara oshiete " tte itte,
I mean, it really feels like there’s some criminal element.
kaosan de orite, kaosan ni tsuite,
I actually shared this news story in a lesson,
" kore ga kaosan toori ka. "
So this is Khaosan Road.
" kore ga takusan bakkupakkaa ga iru basho ka " tte omotte.
and one of my students said, “Wouldn’t he actually be happier if his memories don’t come back?”
kanban ga takusan aru n desu kedo,
There were a lot of signs, and
soko ni " hoteru, hoteru, hoteru " tte kaite aru n desu ne.
“As in, wouldn’t it be harder if they do come back, given this situation?”
soko ni hitotsu zutsu haitte, " ikura? " tte kiite.
True, yeah.
" 1 man ikura " tte kiite,
Maybe it’s better not to know your previous life but still,
" taka sugiru! " tte iu no o kurikaeshite,
it leaves you unsettled, right?
" heya, koko ikura? " " 1 haku 300 en da yo " tte iwarete,
Not knowing who you are, who you were, not even your name.
" yasui! " tte omotte, naka haitte misete moratte.
And now there’s one thing we’ve learned
metcha boroboro datta kedo,
It was totally beat up, but
1 haku 300 en nara ii ka, to omotte.

Room size is seriously important.
大切!
taisetsu!
So important!
I really think your home is so important for happiness in life.
taisetsu taisetsu desu.
It really, really is.
大切。
taisetsu.
It matters.
sore mo arimasu.
That's part of it too.
da kara nagoya ni hikkosou tte kimeta no mo arimasu ne.
That's part of why I decided to move to Nagoya.
naruhodo ne.
I see.
ko supa ga ii. nagoya wa.
Nagoya is good value for money.
ikitakattara,
If you want to go somewhere,
it's only 50 minutes by bullet train from Nagoya Station, from Nagoya to Osaka.
sou ne, tashika ni ne. sou kangaeru to. zenzen ne ( benri).
Yeah, true. When you think about it like that, it's totally convenient.
toukyou mo tabun shigoto de, tabun iku koto mo aru kedo,
I'll probably go to Tokyo for work sometimes, but
shinkansen de 1 jikan han desu kara ne.
it's only an hour and a half by bullet train.
1 kagetsu 1 kai toukyou ni iku nara zenzen.
If it's just going to Tokyo once a month, that's totally fine.
tashika ni nagoya wa ne.
Nagoya really is, yeah.
Location-wise too, in that sense, it's easy to get to lots of places.
nihon no mannaka mitai na kanji desu yo ne.
It's kind of like in the middle of Japan.
nagoya no pojishon ga.
Nagoya's position.
de, nagoya de boku wa kuruma ga aru seikatsu o... mou hitotsu wa kuruma ga aru seikatsu o shitakatta n desu yo.
And, in Nagoya I wanted a life with a car... The other thing is, I wanted to live with a car.
gyaku ni?
Really?
kurumazuki na n desu ka?
Do you like cars?
shoujiki, kuruma wa mattaku kyoumi nai desu.
Honestly, I have zero interest in cars.
kakko ii kuruma ni noritai to ka, nan de mo ii desu.
I don't care about driving a cool car or anything.
nihon no chiisai kei jidousha de mo nan de mo ii n desu yo.
A small Japanese kei car would be totally fine.
nan de mo ii n desu kedo,
Anything is fine, but

up until now... when I was in New Zealand,

kuruma no naka de neteta n desu kedo.
I was sleeping in my car.
kuruma de seikatsu shiteta n desu kedo.
I was living out of my car.
And I think it's probably the same in France now,
kuruma nai.
no car.

Yeah, no car.
You don't really buy a car in a country you're only in temporarily, right?
da kara zutto kuruma ga nai seikatsu o shite ite.
So I've been living without a car this whole time.
oosaka ni iru to, kuruma ga nakute mo zenzen seikatsu dekiru shi.
In Osaka, you can totally live without a car.
toukyou mo dekiru ja nai desu ka.
Same in Tokyo, right?
de mo kuruma ga attara, yappari shizen to ka yama no naka to ka ikeru.
But if you have a car, you can get out into nature, into the mountains.
sugu kigaru ni ikeru.
You can just go easily.
han'i ga hirogarimasu yo ne. ikeru basho ga.
It expands your range, the places you can go.
sou, shikamo nagoya no chikaku ni wa gifu to nagano ga aru n desu yo.
Exactly, and near Nagoya there's Gifu and Nagano.
nagoya no kita ni wa.
To the north of Nagoya.
最高。
saikou. daisuki.
The best. I love it.
kyanpu suki da kara,
Since I love camping,
kyanpu to ka umi to ka kigaru ni ikitai na tte iu.
I want to be able to go camping or to the beach easily.
yama mo aru shi na.
And there are mountains too.
sou, kuruma ga aru seikatsu o shitai n desu kedo,
Yeah, I want a life with a car, but
Nagoya is basically a car society.
nagoya no hito wa kuruma nakute mo seikatsu dekiru n desu kedo, nagoya wa.
People in Nagoya can live without a car, but
basically everyone has a car.
So parking is super cheap too.
toukyou, chuushajoudai mo baka mitai ni takai kara.
In Tokyo, parking is ridiculously expensive, so
kuruma zettai motenai n desu yo ne.
you definitely can't own a car.
tabun oosaka mo chotto takai to omou kara.
Osaka is probably a bit expensive too.
oosaka mo takai.
Osaka is expensive too.
toukyou yori wa yasui kedo,
It's cheaper than Tokyo, but
de mo nagoya da to hontou ni gaku tte sagaru kara.
in Nagoya it drops way down.
いい。
ii.
That's nice.
hontou ni inaka to onaji kurai. kei jidousha katchaeba ne.
It's really about the same as the countryside. If you just buy a kei car.
So in Nagoya, even a cheap car is fine,
sore koso chotto boku wa tabun sono, jiyuu o kekkou zutto motometeru. itsu mo motometeru n de,

so in that sense,
I think I'd be even freer with a car.
kuruma ga aru seikatsu o shite mitai.
I want to try living with a car.
tashika ni. metcha sankou ni narimashita.
True. That was super helpful.
I'm actually telling a bunch of different creators right now,

minna nagoya ni kitara ne,
If everyone comes to Nagoya,

we can get together for work too.

That's true.

You can get anywhere in Japan.
ichiban ima, sore koso toukyou no chikaku, toukyou made hontou ni sugu ikeru kara.
Most of all, it's close to Tokyo, you can get to Tokyo really fast.
sou desu yo ne.
Right.
kyuushuu wa tooi n desu yo ne.
Kyushu is far.
zettai hikou ki ni naru n desu yo. umi ga aru n de.
You have to fly, since there's the sea.
sou, sore ga chotto ne, boku mo kangaeteta n desu yo.
Yeah, that's something I've been thinking about too.
fukuoka ii ka na, to ka.
Like, maybe Fukuoka would be good.
yappari chotto ookii machi ga yokatta n de.
I did want a somewhat big city.

A regional city.

But from Nagoya, if you drive even an hour, it's amazing.

The nature.

Man, I'm torn.
tashika ni. mata kouho ga hitotsu fuete shimatta.
Yeah. Now I've got one more option.

I'm really struggling to decide right now. Seriously.
Oh, really. I recommend it. As a hobby, try looking up places in Nagoya again.

I was checking it all the time too.
ano chiri ni iru toki kara zutto nagoya no SUUMO mite,
Ever since I was in Chile, I've been looking at SUUMO for Nagoya,
" kore ii na, kore ii na " tte renraku shite,
going "this one's nice, this one's nice" and contacting them,
" on rain de kengaku shite mo ii desu ka? "
asking "Can I view it online?"
nan kai mo mitemashita.
I looked so many times.
iya, omoshiroi. arigatou gozaimasu.
No, that's funny. Thank you.
chotto kyou hontou wa oosaka no seikatsu o kikitakatta n desu kedo,
I actually wanted to ask about life in Osaka today, but
sore ijou ni motto omoshiroi koto ga atte.
there was something even more interesting than that.
chotto amari oosaka no seikatsu yori mo gaikoku no seikatsu to ka nagoya no seikatsu ni natchaimashita ne.
We ended up talking more about life abroad and life in Nagoya than life in Osaka.
jikai mata chotto ohanashimashou.
Let's talk again next time.
iroiro " kuruma de seikatsu shiteta n de " tte,
You said things like "I was living in my car,"
nyuujiirando no toki, iimashita kedo,
about your time in New Zealand,
saratto itta kedo, mechamecha ki ni naru to omotte.
you said it casually, but I think people are really curious about it.
ippai arimasu yo.
I've got plenty of stories.
tabi no koto dattara, tabun 10 episoodo ijou tsukuranai to hanasenai.
If it's about my travels, I probably need more than ten episodes to tell it all.

It could be a whole drama.
You could almost make a whole channel just from this.

There are so many stories.

That's right.

That might be good.

Because it doesn't get attention, it's good value for the money.
