There are many things we need to live happily.
kore wa shiawase ni ikiru tame ni, hitsuyou na koto no hitotsu da to omoimasu.
I think this is one of the things we need to live happily.
kore wa boku no iken desu.
This is my opinion.
shiawase ni ikiru tame ni, hitsuyou na koto no hitotsu da to omoimasu.
I think it's one of the things we need to live happily.

It's thinking about what you want to do yourself, and being able to choose it.
Thinking about what you want to do yourself, and actually being able to do it.
sou iu imi desu.
That's what I mean.
etto, kore no hantai no imi no kotoba wa kyousei.
Um, the word with the opposite meaning is force.
tatoeba, yaritaku nai shigoto o saserareru to ka,
For example, being made to do work you don't want to do,
tabetaku nai tabemono o tabesaserareru to ka,
being made to eat food you don't want to eat,
boku wa souji ga suki na n desu kedo, souji ga suki ja nai hito takusan imasu ne.
I like cleaning, but there are a lot of people who don't like cleaning.

For those of you, for example, like...
kazoku ga minasan ni " souji shi nasai! " to ka, iroiro itta to shimasu.
Let's say your family tells you things like, Clean up!
soshite, minasan wa shitaku nai kedo, " aa, shinakya ikenai "
And you don't want to do it, but you're like, "Ugh, I have to do it."
kore o kyousei tte iimasu.
We call this being forced.
de mo, kore wa sono hantai desu.
But this is the opposite of that.
You choose what to do yourself, decide, and actually do it.
tatoeba, minasan ga resutoran ni itte, menyuu o miru to shimasu ne.
For example, let's say you go to a restaurant and look at the menu.
menyuu o mite, menyuu ni futsuu takusan tabemono no namae ga kaite arimasu.
You look at the menu, and normally a lot of food names are written on the menu.

At that time, are you happy if you can choose by yourself?

I'm sure you all have work you want to do!
The work I want to do is the work I'm doing now,
nihon go o benkyou shite iru hito o sapooto suru koto.
supporting people who are studying Japanese.
kore wa boku ga jibun de erande yatte imasu.
I'm doing this because I chose it myself.
" to omotte, yari hajimemashita.
At first I thought, "Oh, I want to do this! I want to try it!" and I started.
soshite, nagai aida, tsuzukete imasu.
And I've been continuing it for a long time.

Already about seven years, about eight years?
mou sugu 8 nen ni narimasu. 8 nen gurai tsuzukete imasu.
It'll soon be eight years. I've been continuing for about eight years.
kore wa jibun de... kono shigoto, boku ga yatte iru shigoto wa
This is by myself... This job, the job I'm doing
I chose it myself, started it, worked hard, and kept going, so I, uh, feel happy.

Because I had this!
shigoto o erabu toki ni, kore ga atta kara,
When I chose my work, because I had this,
ima, ganbatte tsuzukeru koto ga dekite imasu!
Now I can work hard and keep going!

You can go anywhere on your day off. You can eat anything.
de mo, kodomo wa kore ga anmari nai to omoimasu.
But I think kids don't really have this.
tatoeba, geemu tte arimasu ne.
For example, there are games.
otona wa donna geemu o shite mo ii desu.
Adults can play any game.
But games sometimes have age restrictions.
tatoeba, kono geemu wa 12 sai ika no kodomo wa yatcha dame desu to ka,
For example, like kids 12 and under can't play this game,
18 sai ika no kodomo wa yatcha dame desu.
kids 18 and under can't play it.
iroiro seigen ga arimasu.
There are all kinds of restrictions.
ato wa, yuuen chi!
Also, amusement parks!
kodomo ga yuuen chi ni itte mo, nan ka... sugoi hayai jetto koosutaa to ka wa shinchou no seigen ga arimasu.
Even if kids go to an amusement park, um... really fast roller coasters and stuff have height restrictions.
tatoeba 120cm shinchou ga nai to kono norimono ni noremasen to ka ne.
For example, like you can't ride this ride if you're not 120cm tall.
sou iu toki chotto kodomo wa kore o kanjinikui ka mo shiremasen.
At times like that, kids might have a hard time feeling this.
ato kodomo wa gakkou ni ikanai to ikenai desu ne.
Also, kids have to go to school.
chiisai kodomo, shougakusei no uchi wa gakkou ni ikanai to ikenai desu.
Little kids, while they're in elementary school, have to go to school.
sore wa chotto kono kanji ga nai ka mo shirenai desu ne.
That might be a little without this feeling.
otona no jinsei wa kore ga arimasu.
Adult life has this.
nan de mo jibun de sentaku shite yaru koto ga dekiru n desu kedo,
You can choose and do anything by yourself, but,
zenbu jibun de erabu tte iu koto wa sekinin mo tsuite kimasu.
choosing everything yourself also comes with responsibility.
kore ga aru to itsu mo sekinin mo jibun de toranai to ikenai desu.
When you have this, you always have to take responsibility yourself too.

But I need this in my life.
nan de mo jibun de erande yatte miru no ga ii to omoimasu.
I think it's good to choose and try everything yourself.
hoka no hito ni iware tari kimerare tari shite yaru yori, jibun de erande kimeta hou ga ii jinsei ni naru to omoimasu.
Rather than doing what others tell you or decide for you, I think you'll have a better life if you choose and decide yourself.
sou iu men de, kore wa hitsuyou desu.
In that sense, this is necessary.
