「広い世の中へ！」と、ヨハンネスは答えました。「ぼくは、おとうさんもおかあさんもない、あわれなものなんです。でも、神さまが、きっと、たすけてくださるんです」
「わたしも、広い世の中へ出たいんだよ」と、その知らない男は言いました。「どうだね、ふたりで仲間になって、行かないかね？」

"Hey, traveler! Where are you headed?"
"Out into the wide world!" Johannes answered. "I'm a poor soul with no father or mother. But God will surely help me."
"I want to go out into the wide world too," said the unknown man. "How about it? Shall the two of us be companions and travel together?"
