であれであれ (dearedeare)

Meaning & usage

であれであれ repeats であれ after two alternatives to mean the result holds no matter which one is true, like "whether X or Y." It follows a noun (偶然であれ故意であれ) or a question word such as だれ or どう. The tone is formal and written, typical of N1 prose.
