なまじ（っか） (namaji kka)

Meaning & usage
なまじ and なまじっか are adverbs that describe doing something in a half finished or half knowledgeable way that ends up causing trouble. They are used when a little ability, knowledge, or interference leads to an unwelcome result that might have been avoided with none at all, as in なまじ英語が分かる or なまじ口を出す. The adverb comes before a verb or adjective clause, often followed by ばかりに, ために, or ので to show the bad result. It does not mean doing something very well.
