でも・じゃあるまいし (demo jaarumaishi)

Meaning & usage

Used after a noun, でも・じゃあるまいし pushes back against an assumption, saying the listener is not that thing so a certain expectation does not apply. The examples also show でも and なんでも marking 'any/whatever', as in 誰でも and 何でもかんでも.
