まして（や） (mashite ya)

Meaning & usage

まして（や）is an adverb that emphasizes a second, even stronger statement after the first, meaning something holds all the more or, in negative sentences, much less. It stands before a full clause or noun phrase and often pairs with words like 当たり前, 無論, or なおさら.
