およそ (oyoso)

およそ means about or approximately and presents a number or description as a rough estimate rather than an exact value. It is an adverb placed before quantities like およそ10日間 or およそ四倍, and it also appears in the pattern おおよその plus a noun, as in おおよその年齢. It is common in formal writing and reports, where it sounds more careful than casual equivalents.
