今更 (also written いまさら) is an adverb meaning something is happening at a point when it is already too late to matter. It typically appears with phrases like ても仕方ない or 〜ないで, expressing that an action or statement now is pointless or unwelcome. It modifies the following clause directly, so no special attachment is needed.
