たところで (tatokorode)

Meaning & usage

たところで follows the past tense (ta-form) of a verb and means that even if that action is taken, the result will not change or will not help. It often carries a dismissive tone, as in 好き嫌い言ったところで, and can also mark the moment an action occurs, as in 回ったところで.
