Meaning & usage
ずにはおかない expresses that something will certainly happen as a natural result, or that the speaker is determined to not leave an action undone. It is used both for inevitable effects like anger, laughter or debate, and for a strong volitional resolve such as to settle a matter. It attaches to the nai-stem of a verb, replacing ない, as in 買わずにはおかない or させずにはおかない. It is a formal, written style N1 pattern often used to state a confident prediction or firm intention.
