ないでもない (naidemonai)

Meaning & usage

ないでもない softly admits that something is partly or somewhat true, after first implying hesitation. It attaches to the negative form of a verb or of する/なる-type words like 思う or 気がする, replacing the final ない with ないでもない. The tone is reserved and tentative, agreeing only weakly with what is said.
