Meaning & usage
限りだ attaches to an i-adjective and intensifies the feeling it expresses, meaning the emotion is at its utmost. It is used with adjectives of emotion such as 寂しい, うらやましい, わびしい, and 恥ずかしい, and appears mostly in formal or polite speech, often as 〜しい限りです.
