さぞ（かし） (sazo kashi)

Meaning & usage

さぞ（かし）expresses the speaker's confident inference about someone's feelings or a state, much like "I'm sure" or "must be." It precedes a conjecture phrase such as だろう or でしょう, and さぞかし is a slightly more emphatic variant. It carries an empathetic, often exclamatory tone.
