なりに (narini)

Meaning & usage

なりに attaches to a noun or a plain-form verb/adjective and means that someone or something does or has something in a manner suited to them, even if it is not the best or only way. It often appears as XはXなりに, repeating the noun to stress that each party has their own manner.
