はおろか (haoroka)

used to say something is far from true, let alone the lesser case

Meaning & usage

はおろか sets up a contrast where the item before it is obviously beyond what is true, so an even more basic case is denied or emphasized. It attaches to a noun or to a verb with の before it, and the following clause usually contains さえ, すら, or も to stress the lesser item.
